Emily

Position:

Nursery Manager and SENCO

About Me:

After completing my BA in Early Childhood Education and Care in 2019, I have had the privilege of building my career within the Early Years sector, progressing through roles as a Practitioner, Room Leader, SENCO, Forest School Lead, Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager. Each of these experiences has shaped my approach to leadership and strengthened my passion for providing the very best start for every child.

My journey into Early Years is deeply personal. As someone with care experience, I understand just how powerful a kind, consistent, and nurturing adult can be in a child’s life. This is what drives me every day - creating a safe, loving environment where children feel valued, confident, and excited to learn. I am especially passionate about supporting children who may face additional challenges, ensuring they feel included, understood, and able to thrive.

Becoming a Level 3 qualified SENCO has allowed me to further develop my knowledge and advocate for truly inclusive practice. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to access learning in a way that works for them, and I am committed to working closely with families, professionals, and my team to remove any barriers and celebrate each child’s unique strengths.

For me, a nursery is not just a place of learning, but a community. I value strong, open relationships with families and believe that working in partnership is key to supporting children’s development. I also feel incredibly passionate about supporting my team - helping them grow in confidence, develop their skills, and feel proud of the important work they do every day.

I am so excited to be leading the team at Hither Green and to continue building a setting where children, families, and staff all feel happy, supported, and inspired.
