Welcome to Monkey Puzzle Hither Green

Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Hither Green, is proudly located in the heart of Hither Green and is just a short walk from Hither Green train station. This makes us well located for serving families in the London Borough of Lewisham.

Our sister branch, Monkey Puzzle New Cross has been established in 2018 and has been rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2022. Monkey Puzzle Hither Green is proudly owned by the same owner and operational team as New Cross. Both nurseries are part of an award-winning nursery group, offering high quality childcare in our specially equipped nursery for children aged three months to five years old.

Adding to this, we tailor our care to suit your child’s age. We achieve this by placing children into the following age categories: babies aged three to twelve months, toddlers & tweenies aged thirteen months to thirty six months, and lastly preschool aged three to five years. Due to our rooms being equipped especially for these ages, we are able to provide that home-from-home feel.

As we enter the New Year, our Preschoolers enter the period of preparing for big school! This is a HUGE transition for the children, and here at Monkey Puzzle Hither Green, we begin to formally prepare children for this as early as possible.
Our Inventors have been working on their letter recognition within this interactive sensory activity. They practiced identify letters and the sounds they make, whilst also experimenting with forming different letters over these sensory paint bags- Such a simple and fun way to develop their literacy and writing skills🖌️🔠

Our Investigators children have also been focusing on their emotions and feelings, exploring the names for different feelings and how to manage them using the zones of regulation used across the nursery. The children explored their feelings as they created some beautiful sensory bottles to add into their regulation station. Within this activity our 2 year old's were also given the opportunity to exercise their fine motor skills, using jumbo tweezers to transfer small objects.🌈😁😭😡🥰 ... See MoreSee Less

Processing big feelings can be very challenging when you're small. Activities such as this one in our fabulous Discoverer's Room are so supportive in helping our toddlers to begin to identify and understand their feelings. The children had the opportunity to explorer our colour monsters, some sensory bottles and other calming resources as they listened to this lovely story.🌈😁😭😡🥰 ... See MoreSee Less

Sometimes the most simple activities can be the most fun!!
Our Explorers had a wonderful time engaging with this activity to support the development of their motor skills. The children were supported to cruise around the tray, supporting the strength in their legs as they started to practice picking up smaller items as well.
How colourful and fun!!🌈

Science Experiments in Preschool🧪🥼
“Look! its bubbly”
“Wow it’s real lava!”
“It’s getting bigger”
“it’s erupted!”
Our Inventors have continued their volcano topic, beginning to experiment more with the concept of lava and eruptions. They used baking soda and vinegar to see what would happen next as they spoke about real volcanos around the world. WOW!🌋🔥
